This year the World Congress on Acute Heart Failure kicked off the Heart Failure Congress 2014. The congresses were hold in Athens, Greece. Some of us arrived a day earlier, so they could see the city (which is absolutely BEAUTIFUL).
Naoko Kato, Brynja Ingadottir and Leonie Klompstra had poster presentations at the conference. Naoko Kato presented a poster on beta-blocker therapy on the 17th of May with the title: “A recent beta-blocker therapy accompanying higher fixed dose with lowering resting heart rate reduces recurrent hospitalizations for worsening heart failure in systolic heart failure patients”.
Brynja & Leonie had their presentations at the same nursing poster session on the 18th of May. Brynja presented a poster about knowledge expectations of heart failure patients undergoing CRT device implantation & Leonie presented a poster about exergaming in heart failure patients. The poster session was moderated by Ioannis Nikolaou (Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior, Athens University of Economics and Business, Athens). There was a very open and nice discussion between the researchers presenting their posters in this session and we made nice new contacts.
Furthermore Athens was a great city for a conference, with very nice restaurants, beautiful places to visit and nice bars for drinks!
