Updates 2014-12-15
In total 27 websites have been evaluated within the CESAR group. A conclusion is that the instrument for evaluating the websites is difficult to understand and apply to the websites. It has originally been developed for printed materials, and this might be one reason.
Because of that, the researchers in the CESAR network decided to proceed with the project and modify or develop a new instrument for evaluating eHealth materials that will be reliable and easy to use in clinical practice. We are happy to announce that the project received 150.000 SEK from FORSS.
From the 24th of October 2013 until now a lot has happened in the project on website evaluation. In total 23 websites have been evaluated within the CESAR group by two researchers, each separately. A conclusion from our last network-meeting is that the instrument for evaluating the websites is difficult to understand and apply to the websites. It has originally been developed for printed materials, and this might be one reason. We therefore decided to go on with a consensus discussion within the pairs who have evaluated the same websites, discussing the items where the researchers disagree. The preliminary results will be presented at the EuroHeartCare Congress in Stavanger, Norway.
Last week Leonie and Malin tried the evaluation instrument on two different websites and found it quite easy to use. Now all future evaluators will try the instrument on the website we had most trouble with, this way we can discuss our troubles together when we meet in November.
